Most UK towns and cities have a bus service. How you pay to travel on them can vary from place to place so please bear this in mind. In some places, you pay on board and need the exact change. Other places require you to buy a ticket, in advance, from a machine. In London, for example, you need a ticket, a credit or debit card or Oyster card in advance to travel. Most bus routes are mapped on the bus stops but you can also plan your routes in advance using sites like Traveline.
